Sınıf öğretmenlerinin yer değiştirmesine ilişkin veli görüşlerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı sınıf öğretmenlerinin yer değiştirmesine ilişkin veli görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum yöntemi deseninin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada otuz sekiz öğrenci velisiyle yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler nitel araştırma yöntemleri doğrultusunda temalar altında toplanmış ve içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Yapılan görüşmelerde velilerce sınıf öğretmenlerinin dönem içinde, dönem sonunda veya ara sınıflarda yer değiştirmesiyle öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarında düşme veya artma yaşandığı; bununda yeni gelen öğretmenin niteliği ve tecrübesine bağlı olduğu ifade edilmiştir. Çocuklarda görülen duygusal değişimin ise, ülkemizde bir gelenek haline gelen sınıf öğretmenlerinin birinci sınıftan dördüncü sınıfa kadar aynı sınıfı okutmasına bağlı olarak öğrencilerin öğretmenleriyle duygusal bağ kurmasından kaynaklı duygusal geçici travma olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Çocukların öğretmen üzerinden oluşturdukları eğitim ve okul metaforları her seferinde yeniden yapılanmak zorunda kalmaktadır. Bu da davranışlarına yansımaktadır. Okuldan soğuma, ders çalışamama, okul devamsızlığının artması, sınıf ve okul kurallarına uymama başlıca sorunlar olarak tespit edilmiştir. Velilerin sınıf öğretmenlerinin yer değiştirmesine ilişkin fikir ve görüşleri analiz edildiğinde geleneksel olarak aynı öğretmenin dört yıl boyunca aynı sınıfta kalmasına, zorunlu olmadıkça yer değiştirmemesini istemekle birlikte öğretmen yeterliliği ve niteliğini taşımayan öğretmenin ise yer değiştirmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; sınıf öğretmenlerinin yer değiştirmesinin belli kurallara bağlı tutulması, öğretmenlerin yer değiştirme taleplerinde velilerinde görüşlerinin alınması, ara dönemlerde yer değiştiren öğretmenin yerine sınıf öğretmenliği branşının dışında farklı branşlarda ve eğitim fakültesi alanları dışında lisans mezunu ücretli öğretmen gönderilmemesi önerilmektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the parental views on the relocation of classroom teachers. In this study, case study design, aqualitative research method, was used and face-to-face interviews were conducted with thirty eight parents. The data obtained from the interviews were grouped under themes in line with the qualitative research methods and subjected to content analysis. In the interviews, it was reported that academic success of the children was either harmed or improved depending on the quality and experience of the new teacher generally appointed at the beginning or in the middle of the semester and for the second and third grades. Besides, the study clearly showed that some emotional changes occurred in children as a result of the emotional temporary trauma caused by the collapse of the emotional affinity established by the students with their teachers during the primary school years, because in Turkey it has been a tradition for a teacher to teach in the same class from one st Grade to four th Grade. Education and school metaphors that children create through teachers have to be restructured each time, which affect their behaviour negatively. Unwillingness to attend school, not be ingable to study, increasing school absenteeism, failure to comply with classroom and school rules were identified as major problems. When the ideas and opinions of the parents about the relocation of classroom teachers were analyzed, it was concluded that they traditionally wanted the same teacher to teach in the same class for four years and not to be replaced unless it is compulsory, but the teachers who did not have the necessary qualifications should be replaced. According to the findings; it is recommended that the relocation process of classroom teachers should be subject to certain rules, parents opinions should be taken into consideration and the substitude teachers having graduated from programs other than primary education program in Faculty of Education should not take the place of the regular teacher who has moved to another school during the semester.
