Özet
Mevcut çalışmada COPE indeksinin Alzheimer hastalarına bakım veren aile bireylerinde psikometrik özelliklerini incelenmiştir. 165 informal aile bakım verenden oluşan örneklem tarafından COPE İndeksi, Kısa Zarit Bakım Yükü Ölçeği (ZBI-12), SF-12 Sağlık Anketi (SF-12), The EUROHIS-QOL 8-item index (EUROHIS), WHO-5 Well Being Index (WHO-5), Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği (MSPSS) ve Barthel İndeksi dolduruldu.
In the present study, the psychometric properties of the COPE index were examined in informal caregivers of Alzheimer's patients. A sample of 165 informal family caregivers completed the European Index of Elderly Caregivers, the Short-Form Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI-12), 12 Item Short From Health Survey (SF-12), The EUROHIS-QOL 8-item index (EUROHIS), WHO-5 Well-being Index (WHO-5), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Barthel Index. Additionally, 30 participants completed the COPE Index twice, two weeks apart. Confirmatory factor analysis, criterion validity and known group validity were used for validity. Cronbach alpha and test-retest correlation coefficient were examined for reliability. In the current study, it was confirmed that the COPE Index has a three-factor structure consisting of negative impact, positive value and support quality dimensions. Data-model fit was found at an acceptable level (ꭓ²/sd=2.67, CFI= 0.99, TLI= 0.99, RMSEA= 0.09, SRMR=0.10). The regression weights of all items in COPE were over 0.30. Correlations between COPE and ZBI-12, SF12, EUROSHIS-QOL, WHO-5 and MSPSS demonstrated criterion validity. In the examination of known group validity, it was seen that as the daily caregiving hours increased, the Negative Impact score increased, the scores obtained from the Negative Impact and Support Quality dimensions were able to distinguish those who received and did not receive support in caregiving, the presence of chronic disease in caregivers caused the Negative Impact score to increase, and as the patient's degree of dependency in care increased, the negative impact score increased. Cronbach alpha values for Negative Affect, Positive Value, and Support Quality dimensions were 0.91, 0.72, and 0.63, respectively; test-retest ICC values were 0.96, 0.84, and 0.73. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that the COPE index is a valid and reliable tool.
