Geçmişin perspektifinden günümüze idealist öğretmen: Karma bir araştırma

Abstract

Bu araştırmada idealist öğretmenlik olgusuyla ilgili farklı ülke edebiyatlarında ortaya konulmuş eserlerdeki kahramanlardan yola çıkarak idealist öğretmen örnekleri ve özellikleri üzerine derinlemesine bir inceleme yapmak amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada karma yöntem tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel deseni ''Anlatı Araştırması'' modelidir. Araştırmanın nitel örneklemini ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş ''Çalıkuşu, Vurun Kahpeye, İdealist Öğretmen, Toprak Uyanırsa, İlk Öğretmenim ve Ölü Ozanlar Derneği'' oluşturmaktadır. İdealist öğretmenlikle ilgili ele alınan eserler incelenirken doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılmış olup veriler içerik analizi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analizi neticesinde 3 tema ve 10 alt tema belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel deseni ''Betimsel Tarama'' modelidir. Araştırmanın nicel kısmında öğretmenlerin idealistlik düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel evrenini İstanbul/Tuzla İlçesinde devlet okullarında görev yapan 4235 öğretmen, örneklemini 568 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Veriler, "İdealist Öğretmen Ölçeği" yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel örnekleminde ele alınan eserlerde idealist öğretmenlikle ilgili bulgulara ulaşılmış ve bu bulgular nicel verilerle birlikte yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada ulaşılan sonuçlara göre öğretmenlerin idealist öğretmenlik algı düzeyleri yüksektir. Bununla birlikte araştırmanın nitel deseninde ele alınan eserlerdeki öğretmen figürlerinden yola çıkılarak idealist öğretmenlik kavramıyla ilgili genel bir çerçeveye ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır.

In this research, it is aimed to make an in-depth analysis on idealist teacher examples and their characteristics, based on the heroes in the works revealed in the literatures of different countries about the idealist teaching phenomenon. Mixed method was preferred in the research. The qualitative design of the research is the "Narrative Research" model. The qualitative sample of the research consists of ''Çalıkuşu, Vurun Kahpeye, İdealist Öğretmen, Toprak Uyanırsa, İlk Öğretmenim ve Ölü Ozanlar Derneği'' selected by criterion sampling method. While examining the works on idealistic teaching, the document analysis method was used and the data were analyzed with the help of content analysis. As a result of the content analysis, 3 themes and 10 sub-themes were determined. The quantitative design of the research is the "Descriptive Review" model. In the quantitative part of the study, it was aimed to determine the idealism levels of teachers. The quantitative universe of the research consisted of 4235 teachers working in public schools in Istanbul/Tuzla District, and the sample was 568 teachers. The data were collected with the help of the "Idealistic Teacher Scale". At the same time, findings related to idealistic teaching have been reached in the works discussed and these findings have been interpreted together with quantitative data. According to the results of the research, teachers' idealistic teaching perception levels are high. In addition to this, it has been tried to reach a general framework about the concept of idealistic teaching by starting from the teacher figures in the works discussed in the qualitative design of the research.
