Ahmet Davutoğlu'nun Stratejik Derinlik: Türkiye'nin Uluslararası Konumu kitabının teorik bir incelemesi

Abstract

Bu tezde, Uluslararası İlişkilerde realist teorinin varsayımları ve bu çerçevede Stratejik Derinlik: Türkiye'nin Uluslararası Konumu kitabı incelenmiştir. Bu tez nitel bir araştırma olup birincil ve ikincil kaynakların sistematik bir analizine dayanmaktadır. Tez, temelde realist teorinin varsayımları çerçevesinde realizmin kavramsal, tarihsel ve teorik gelişimi üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Ahmet Davutoğlu'nun, Türkiye'de gözlenen teori eksikliğini giderme iddiasıyla kaleme aldığı Stratejik Derinlik: Türkiye'nin Uluslararası Konumu ile ilgili literatürde derinlemesine teorik bir çalışmanın yapılmadığı görülmüştür. Bu tezde, literatüre katkı sağlamak amacıyla bu eksikliğin giderilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu temel amacın yanında, realist teorinin ve versiyonlarının teori geleneği olarak incelenmesi amaç edinilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, Stratejik Derinlik: Türkiye'nin Uluslararası Konumu yekpare bir teorinin varlığı ile kapsamlı açıklamalar getirilerek değil, çoğulcu bir yaklaşım tarzında analiz düzeyinde incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Stratejik Derinlik: Türkiye'nin Uluslararası Konumu bağlamında; Soğuk Savaş sonrası oluşan yeni uluslararası sistemde Türkiye'nin Avrupa Birliği, Balkanlar, Orta Asya ve Ortadoğu ile ilişkileri ve politikaları teorik çerçevede incelenmiştir.

In this thesis, the assumptions of the realist theory in International Relations and the book Strategic Depth: Turkey's International Position book is analyzed. This thesis is a qualitative research and is based on a systematic analysis of primary and secondary sources. The thesis is basically built on the conceptual, historical and theoretical development of realism within the framework of the assumptions of realist theory. Ahmet Davutoğlu's Strategic Depth: Turkey's International Position, which was written by Ahmet Davutoğlu with the claim of addressing the lack of theory observed in Turkey, has not been the subject of an in-depth theoretical study in the literature. This thesis aims to fill this gap in order to contribute to the literature. In addition to this main objective, it is aimed to examine the realist theory and its versions as a theoretical tradition. In addition, Strategic Depth: Turkey's International Position has been analyzed at the level of analysis in a pluralistic approach rather than by providing comprehensive explanations with the existence of a monolithic theory. Strategic Depth: Turkey's International Position, Turkey's relations and policies with the European Union, the Balkans, Central Asia and the Middle East in the new international system that emerged after the Cold War are analyzed in a theoretical framework.
