Okul etkililiği, okul imajı, öğretmen performansı ve öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki örüntüsü

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı öğretmenlerin okul etkililiği, okul imajı algıları, performansları ve öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki örüntüsünün incelenmesidir. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırma modellerinden ilişkisel tarama deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul İli Maltepe ilçesinde bulunan kamu ortaokullarında görev yapan öğretmenleri kapsamaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul/Maltepe İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı resmi ortaokullarda görev yapan, küme örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 471 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, Bilgi Formu, "Etkili Okul Öğretmen ve Yönetici Ölçeği", "Kurumsal İmaj Ölçeği" ve "Bireysel Performans Ölçeği" kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz etmeden önce verilerin normallik testleri yapılarak, normal dağılım gösterdiğine karar verilmiştir. Araştırmada t testi, pearson korelasyon analizi ve regresyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda öğretmenlerin okul etkililiği ve okul imajı algıları, performansları, Maltepe ilçesi LGS sınavı ortalama puanının (293,024) altında kalan okullar ile üstünde olan okullar arasında anlamlı farklılıklar göstermektedir. Öğretmenlerin okul etkililiği ile okul imajı arasında yüksek düzeyde pozitif yönde, okul etkililiği ile akademik başarı arasında orta düzeyde ve pozitif yönde ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Okul imajı ile öğretmen performansı arasında orta düzeyde ve pozitif yönde, okul imajı ile akademik başarı arasında zayıf düzeyde ve pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğretmen performansı ile okul etkililiği arasında orta düzeyli pozitif yönlü ilişki, öğretmen performansı ile öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasında zayıf düzeyli ve pozitif yönde ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca okul etkililiğinin, okul imajını, öğretmen performansını ve akademik başarıyı anlamlı şekilde yordadığı; öğretmen performansının, okul etkililiğini ve akademik başarıyı anlamlı yordadığı; okul imajının, öğretmen performansını ve akademik başarıyı anlamlı yordadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Son olarak okul etkililiği ve imajı ile öğretmen performansının birlikte akademik başarıyı anlamlı yordayıp yormadığı değerlendirildiğinde, sadece okul imajının akademik başarıyı anlamlı yordadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship pattern between teachers' school effectiveness, school image perceptions, performance and students' academic achievement. In this study, relational screening design, one of the quantitative research models, was used. The universe of the research includes teachers working in public secondary schools in Maltepe district of Istanbul. The sample of the study consists of 471 teachers who work in public secondary schools affiliated to the Istanbul/Maltepe District Directorate of National Education and were selected by cluster sampling method. The data were obtained by using the Information Form, the "Effective School Teacher and Administrator Scale", the "Corporate Image Scale" and the "Individual Performance Scale". The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS package program. Before the analysis, it was decided that the data showed normal distribution by performing normality tests. In the study, t test, pearson correlation analysis and regression analyzes were performed. As a result of the analysis, teachers' perceptions and performances of school effectiveness and school image show significant differences between the schools that are below the Maltepe district LGS exam average score (293,024) and those that are above it. A high level of positive correlation was found between teachers' school effectiveness and school image, and a moderate and positive relationship between school effectiveness and academic achievement. It was determined that there was a moderate and positive relationship between school image and teacher performance, and a weak and positive relationship between school image and academic achievement. A moderate positive relationship was found between teacher performance and school effectiveness, and a weak and positive relationship between teacher performance and students' academic achievement. In addition, school effectiveness significantly predicted school image, teacher performance and academic achievement; teacher performance significantly predicted school effectiveness and academic achievement; It was concluded that school image significantly predicted teacher performance and academic achievement. Finally, when it was evaluated whether school effectiveness and image and teacher performance together significantly predicted academic success, it was concluded that only school image significantly predicted academic success.
