Ebeveyn tutumunun çocuğun mizaç ve kişilik özellikleri üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı ebeveynlerin çocuklarına karşı tutumlarının çocukta görülen mizaç ve kişilik özelliklerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu İstanbul'da yaşayan 3-6 yaş arası çocuğu olan 220 ebeveyn oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan araştırmada nicel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırma modeli olarak korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; Çocuklar için Kısa Mizaç Ölçeği (ÇKMÖ), Beş Faktör Kişilik Envanteri (BFKE) Kısa Formu ve Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği (ETÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada değişkenler arasındaki farkın anlamlılığını ortaya koyabilmek için ikili grup karşılaştırmalarında bağımsız örneklem t-testi, ikiden fazla değişkenli grup karşılaştırmalarında ise tek yönlü varyans analizi olan (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Gruplar arasındaki farkları belirlemek için Bonferroni (çoklu karşılaştırma) testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, ebeveyn tutumunun çocuğun mizaç ve kişiliği arasında etkileşim olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucu sosyo-demografik verilerde anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Çocukların kişilik özellikleriyle cinsiyetleri arasında anlamlı bir fark görülmemiştir. Kişilik özellikleriyle kardeş sayısı ve yaşları arasında anlamlı farklar tespit edilmiştir. Mizaç özellikleriyle cinsiyet, kardeş sayısı ve yaş bazında anlamlı farklar görülmüştür. Ebeveyn tutumunun ise ebeveynin yaşıyla anlamlı bir farkı olmamasıyla beraber, ebeveynin eğitim durumu, mesleği ve aylık gelir düzeyleri bazında anlamlı farkların olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ebeveyn tutumuyla çocuğun mizacı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı fakat ebeveyn tutumuyla çocuğun kişiliğiyle arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

This study aims to examine the effect of parents' attitudes towards their children on the temperament and personality characteristics of the child. The study group consisted of 220 parents with children between the ages of 3 and 6 living in Istanbul. The quantitative method was used in the research. Correlation and regression analyses were used as the research model. As data collection tools in research; the Short Temperament Scale for Children, the Five-Factor Personality Inventory, and the Parental Attitude Scale were used in the study for children. To reveal the significance of the difference between the variables in the study, an independent sample t-test was used in paired group comparisons, and a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used in group comparisons with more than two variables. The Bonferroni (multiple comparisons) test was used to determine the differences between groups. According to the results obtained from the research, it was determined that the parental attitude was the interaction between the child's temperament and personality. As a result of the analysis, significant differences were detected in the socio-demographic data. There was no significant difference between the characteristics of the children and their gender. Significant differences were detected between personality traits and the number of siblings and age. There were significant differences in temperament in terms of gender, number of siblings, and age. Although there is no significant difference in parental attitude with the age of the parent, it has been determined that there are significant differences based on the parent's educational status, profession, and monthly income levels. It has been determined that there is no significant relationship between parental attitude and the temperament of the child, but there is a significant relationship between parental attitude and the child's personality.
