John Searle'e göre zihin ve yapay zekâ

Abstract

Modern dönemde zihin felsefesi gibi konularda, zihin-beden tartışmaları önemli bir yere sahip olmuştur. Bazıları zihni ve onun evrendeki yerini anlamak için yapılması gereken en iyi şeyin sırtımızı felsefeye tümüyle yaslamak olduğu sonucuna ulaşmışlardır. Bu filozoflar zihin felsefesinin, bilişsel bilim olarak adlandırılan bir birleşen olduğunu veya olması gerektiğini savunur. Bilişsel bilim; psikoloji, nörobilim, bilgisayar bilimleri, dilbilim ve antropolojiden parçalar içerir. Bilişsel bilim ve bizim biliş sistemimizin benzetimi olan yapay zekâ zihin yapımızın anlaşılması açısından önem arz etmektedir. İç gözlemsel bilgimizin anlaşılması ve elde edilen verilerin güvenirliliği psikoloji tarafından sağlanır. Nörobilim beyinle ilişkili sinir bağlarının yapısını, çalışma düzenini araştırır. Böylelikle beynin bilinmezlerinin olduğunu ve zihnin de bilinmeyenlerinin bulunması gerektiğini vurgular. Zihin tartışmaları fiziksel âlemin yanı sıra görünmeyen âlemden olan hisler, arzular, düşünceler gibi konuları ortaya koyar. Searle bunlardan yola çıkarak Çin Odası deneyini ve zihni açıklamaya çalışır. Çalışmamızda Searle'ın zihin ve yapay zekâ hakkındaki düşüncelerine ve ileri sürülen iddiaları içerik ve uzantılarıyla birlikte elimizden geldiğince tartışarak makul bir sonuca varmaya çalışacağız.

In the modern era, debates on subjects such aw philosophy of mind have held significant importance, with discussions about the mind-body relationship taking center stage. Some have concluded that the best approach to comprehend the mind and its position in the universe is to lean entirely on philosophy. These philosophers argue that philosophy of mind is a component or should be considered one within cognitive science. Cognitive science encompasses fragments from psychology, neuroscience, computer science, linguistics, and anthropology. Both cognitive science and the emulation of our cognitive system through artificial intelligence are crucial for understanding our mental structure. Psychology ensures the comprehension of our introspective knowledge and the reliability of collected data. Neuroscience investigates the structure and operational patterns of brain-related neural connections. Thus, it emphasizes the existence of unknowns in the brain and underscores the need to uncover the enigmas of the mind. Discussions on the mind unveil topics not only from the physical realm but also from the invisible realm of emotions, desires, and thoughts. Searle, based on these ideas, introduces the Chinese Room experiment and endeavors to elucidate the mind. In our study, we will discuss Searle's notions about the mind and artificial intelligence, along with their content and extensions, and strive to arrive at a reasoned conclusion.
