Mescit mimarisinin kavramsal çerçevesinde Sinan'ın camilerini günümüze bir uyarlama modeli

Abstract

Tarihî mescit (cami) mimarisinde belirli bir yapısal form birliği görülmektedir. Dönem metinleri ve çağdaş yazındaki yaygın kanaate göre yapıyı karakterize eden bu formlar din, dinî düşünce ve pratik ihtiyaçlarla belirlenmiştir. Günümüze dek yapılagelen Mimar Sinan'ın camileri, bu bağlamda en yetkin örneklerden görülmüştür. Modernleşen birçok İslâm ülkesinin geçmişiyle kopukluk yaşaması mescit mimarisindeki sürekliliği sekteye uğratmıştır. Modern dönemden günümüze, Sinan'ın camilerinin taklidi veya üsluplaştırılması ile modernist tutum yaygın iki tasarım eğilimidir. Yapısal formun yeni malzemelerin doğasına uygun olmaması nedeniyle ilk tutum, mescidi oluşturan kavramsal arka plan ile estetik tecrübeyi ihmal etmesi nedeniyle ikinci tutum bu çalışmada bir sorun olarak tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmada, birtakım İslâmî ilkeden yola çıkarak, çağdaş bir malzeme ve teknolojiyle, geleneğin duygu ve özünü kaybetmeyen bir yapısal kurgu gerçekleştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada İslâm medeniyetinin temel kavramları çerçevesinde mescit mimarisinin bir tasarlama yöntemine indirgenmesi olan kavramsal model; Sinan'ın camilerindeki yapısal form niteliklerinin incelenmesi olan tarihî model ve Sinan'ın camilerinin kavramsal model çerçevesinde günümüze geometrik ve teknolojik bir uyarlaması olan tasarım modeliyle üç aşamalı bir yol izlenmiştir. Tasarım modelinin biçimlendirilmesinde zincir eğrisi, Sinan'ın camilerinin oranları, parametrik tasarım, Türk üçgeni ve ahşap (CLT) katlanmış plaktan faydalanılmıştır. Oluşan tasarım modeli mekân, biçim, boyut, kesit ve cephe bağlamında sınanmış ve değerlendirilmiştir. Tasarım ürünü, sonuç bölümünde bazı karşılaştırmalar üzerinden tartışılmıştır. Nihayetinde kavramsal model ile uyumlu, Sinan'ın camilerinin imajını çağrıştıran, günümüzün pratik ihtiyaçlarına yönelik bir tasarım yöntemi ve modeli önerilmiştir.

Typologies and structural forms in historical mosque architecture are seems to be in common. According to historical texts and contemporary literature, these forms characterised by religion, religious thought and practical needs. Mimar Sinan mosques, which have been built until today, have been seen as the most mature examples in this context. Due to the modernisation of Muslim countries, there has been a disconnection with the past and the continuity in mosque architecture has been interrupted. From the modern period to the present day, imitation or stylisation of Sinan mosques and the modernist attitude are two common design trends. Structural forms is not suitable for the nature of new materials and neglection of the conceptual background and aesthetic experience that constitute the mosque defined as a problem in this study. The aim of this study is to design structural forms in mosque with contemporary materials and technology based on a number of Islamic principles. In this study, a design model was developed in line with today's needs by examining the structural form qualities of Sinan mosques (historical model) within the framework of the basic concepts of Islamic civilisation (conceptual model). Hanging model, proportions of Sinan mosques, parametric design, Turkish triangle and timber (CLT) folded plate were benefited to form the design model. The design model was analysed and evaluated in terms of space, form, dimension, section and façade. The design model is discussed through some comparisons in the conclusion. As a result, a design method and mosque model that is compatible with the conceptual model, revitalises the image of Sinan mosques and responds to today's practical needs is proposed.
