Ziya Gökalp'te kültür-din ilişkisi ve eğitime yansımaları

Abstract

Ziya Gökalp'in kültür ve din hakkındaki görüşleri ve bunlar arasında kurduğu ilişkinin kendisinin eğitim hakkındaki görüşlerine yansımalarını incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Gökalp'in görüşlerinin daha iyi anlaşılması için onun sosyoloji yönteminin anlaşılması gerekmektedir. Gökalp'in sosyoloji yöntemini ise Fransız sosyolog Emile Durkheim'in sosyoloji anlayışından bağımsız ele almak mümkün değildir. Bu sebeple çalışmada Durkheim'in sosyoloji yöntemi, toplum ve din hakkındaki görüşleri de ele alınmıştır. Ardından Gökalp'in sosyoloji yöntemi, kültür, din ve eğitim hakkındaki görüşleri incelenmiştir. Nitekim Gökalp'in görüşlerinin merkezinde Durkheim sosyolojisindeki toplumsal olgu, toplumsal bilinç ve toplumsal temsil gibi kavramlar önemli yer tutarken, Gökalp bunları toplum vicdanı ve daha çok mefkure kavramı ile ifade etmiştir. Gökalp'in kültür hakkındaki görüşleri ilkin onun toplumsal grupların tarihi tekamülü ve mefkure kavramı ile ele alınmıştır. Böylelikle Gökalp'in kültürü toplumsal grupların en gelişmişi olarak nitelediği kültürel milletler açısından ele aldığı ve toplumsal olguların toplamı olarak tanımladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Dini de Durkheim'in toplumsal olgu kavramı üzerinden ele alan Gökalp, dini, kültürün olgusal bir tamamlayıcısı olarak ortaya koymuştur. Böylelikle Gökalp'in kültür ve din ilişkisini, dini bir olgu biçiminde ele alarak kurduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte eğitimi kültür kavramı üzerinden ele alan Gökalp'in kültür ve din ilişkisini ele alma biçimi eğitim hakkındaki görüşlerini etkilemiştir.

The main purpose of this research was to examine Ziya Gökalp's views on culture and religion and the reflections of the relationship he established between them on his views on education. In order to better understand Gökalp's views on culture and religion, it is necessary to understand his sociological method. However, it is not possible to discuss Gökalp's sociological method on its own without considering the French sociologist Emile Durkheim's views on sociology. For this reason, Durkheim's sociological method, his views on society and religion were also discussed in this study. Then, Gökalp's sociological method, his views on culture and religion were examined. Thus, while concepts such as social phenomenon, social consciousness and social representation in Durkheim's sociology occupy an important place in the centre of Gökalp's views, Gökalp expressed them with the concept of social conscience, and more with the concept of mefkure (social representation). Gökalp's views on culture were first discussed together with the historical evolution of social groups and the concept 'mefkure'. It has been concluded that Gökalp considers culture in terms of cultural nations, which he identifies as the most developed of social groups, and defines it as the sum of social phenomena. Gokalp, who dealt with religion through Durkheim's concept of social phenomenon, presented religion as a factual complement to culture. Thus, it has been concluded that Gökalp established the relationship between culture and religion by considering religion as a phenomenon. Moreover, Gökalp's approach to the relationship between culture and religion, which deals with education through the concept of culture, has affected his views on education.
