Genel liselerden meslek liselerine dönüşen okulların yaşadığı sorunlara ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Genel liselerden Meslek liselerine dönüşen okulların öğretmenler açısında yaşanan sorunların neler olduğunu değişime hazır olup olmadıkları konusunda değişimin parçası olan ve bundan etkilenen eğitimcilerin konu ile ilgili düşüncelerini, yaklaşımlarını ortaya koymaktır. Değişim süreçlerinde, gerek yönetim açısından gerekse yeterince donanımı ve hazırlığı bulunmayan öğretmenler açısından yaşanılan ve yaşanabilecek birtakım problemleri belirlemek ve bunların çözümlerine ışık tutabilmek amacıyla bu araştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırma İstanbul ili Kadıköy, Üsküdar ve Ümraniye ilçelerinden meslek liselerine dönüştürülen okullar da görev yapan 9 lise öğretmeni ile görüşülmüştür. Bu okulların 6'sı genel liseden imam hatip lisesine dönüştürülen, 3'ü genel liseden meslek lisesine dönüşen okullardır. Yapılacak görüşmeler için, okul dönüşümünü deneyimleyen öğretmenler belirlenmiş; randevu alınmış ve görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Değişim olgusunun derinlemesine incelemek için bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenolojik desen kullanılmıştır. Okul dönüşümünün öğretmenler tarafından nasıl algılandığı ve deneyimlendiği ile ilgili yapılan görüşmeler, veri analizleri ve çözümlemeler sonucunda toplam 6 genel tema ortaya konmuştur. Bu genel temalar şu şekildedir: Dönüşümün öğretmenlere olan etkisi, Okul iklimine yansımaları, Okulun fiziksel imkânlarında iyileşme, Okul akademik seviyesinde değişimler, Öğrencilerin akademik ve sosyal gelişimlerine etkileri, Dönüşüm sürecinin işlevselliğidir. Bu genel temaların altında kategoriler ve alt kategoriler bulunmaktadır. Araştırmada okul dönüşümü deneyimleyen öğretmenlerde çeşitli duygusal ve sosyal tepkiler ortaya çıkmıştır. Dönüşümün öğretmenler üzerindeki etkisinin en önemli tema'sı olan bu tema ile öğretmenlerin iş ve motivasyonlarının dönüşümden nasıl etkilendiği incelenmektedir. Okullarda kapsamlı değişime karar verdikten sonra uygulamalara başlamadan önce, okulların fiziki koşullarını, okul yöneticilerin değişime hazır bulunuşluklarını ve öğretmenlerin nicelik ve nitelik olarak yeterliliğini araştırmalı; gerekli etüt yapıldıktan sonra değişim faaliyetleri uygulanmaya başlanmalı, okul yöneticilerini ve öğretmenleri değişim hakkında bilgilendirimeli, gerekirse hizmet içi eğitimler düzenlenmelidir.

The aim of this research is to reveal the thoughts and approaches of the educators who are part of the change and whether the problems that are experienced in terms of teachers are ready for the change in the schools which are transformed from general high schools to vocational high schools. This research has been carried out in order to identify some problems that may be experienced and to shed light on their solutions in the process of changes, both in terms of management and in terms of teachers who are not adequately equipped and prepared. In the research, 9 high school teachers working were interviewed in schools transformed to vocational high schools from Kadıköy, Üsküdar and Ümraniye districts of Istanbul. The 6 of these schools transformed from General High School to Imam Hatip High School and another 3 of these schools transformed from General High school to vocational high school. For the interviews to be held, The teachers experienced the transformation of schools were determined; appointments were taken and interviews have been made. Phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in this study to examine the phenomenon of change in depth. A total of six general themes had revealed as a result of the interviews, data analysis and resolutions on how school transformation is perceived and experienced by teachers. These general themes are as follows: The effect of transformation on teachers, the reflections on the school climate, improvement in the physical facilities of the school, changes in the academic level of the school, effects on the academic and social development of students are a functionality of the transformation process. There are categories and sub-categories under these general themes. Various emotional and social reactions emerged among teachers who experienced school transformation in the research. This theme, which is the most important theme of the effect of transformation on teachers, examines how teachers' work and motivations are affected by the transformation. They should investigate the physical conditions of the schools, the readiness of school administrators for change, and the qualification and quantity of teachers before starting the practices after deciding on comprehensive changes in schools; After necessary studies, the change activities should be started, school administrators and teachers should be informed about the change and in-service training should be organized if necessary.
