İnsanın Ölümsüzlük Arayışı Olarak Transhümanizm

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Transhümanizm düşüncesinin ölümsüzlüğe ulaşma çabası ve bu çabanın insan için oluşturduğu imkân ve tehdit boyutları ele alınmaktadır. Ölümsüzlük arzusunun insanlık doğasına derc edildiği inancı ve kadim geçmişi Transhümanizm felsefesinin anlaşılmasına önemli katkı sağlamaktadır. Fakat Transhümanistlerin ölümsüzlük düşüncesini soyut düzlemden somut alana çıkarmak istemesi onu farklı bir konuma oturtmaktadır. Transhümanizm ölümsüzlüğün dijital sahada mümkün olacağına inanmaktadır. Bu sebeple şu an ki insanı bu dijital ölümsüzlük evreni için biyolojik, fizyolojik ve zihinsel olarak eksik görmekte ve onu dönüştürerek dijital evrene hazırlamak istemektedir. Bu radikal değişimi yapabileceği inancını ona veren teknolojinin durdurulamaz gelişimidir. Teknoloji ile tıp ve bilim alanında ümit verici gelişmeler yaşanması, iletişimde, günlük yaşamda konfor ve kolaylıkların sağlanması imkân olarak görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte hızla seyreden teknolojik ilerlemeler, belirsizlikleri olan bir geleceğe doğru akmakta ve insan ön göremediklerinden dolayı kaygı duymaktadır. Esasen insan belirsizlikle ilk kez karşı karşıya kalmamaktadır. Fakat bugün yaşadığı bu belirsizliğin içinde ontolojik varlığının yok olacağı endişesi de yatmaktadır. Transhümanizmin insanın biyoloji ve fizyolojisine dair radikal değişim girişimleri bilhassa dini çevrelerle karşı karşıya gelmesine ve tehdit olarak algılanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu sebeple Transhümanizm düşüncesi imkân ve tehdidin iç içe geçtiği arafta bir yerde durmaktadır.

This study examines the Transhumanist idea's effort to achieve immortality and the dimensions of the possibilities and threats this effort poses for humans. The belief that the desire for immortality is embedded in human nature and its ancient past contribute significantly to the understanding of the Transhumanist philosophy. However, the fact that Transhumanists want to take the idea of immortality from the abstract plane to the concrete field places it in a different position. Transhumanism believes that immortality will be possible in the digital field. For this reason, it sees the current human as biologically, physiologically and mentally deficient for this digital immortality universe and wants to transform it and prepare it for the digital universe. It is the unstoppable development of technology that gives it the belief that it can make this radical change. With technology, promising developments in the fields of medicine and science, and the provision of comfort and convenience in communication and daily life are seen as opportunities. However, rapidly progressing technological advances are flowing towards a future with uncertainties and humans are anxious about what they cannot foresee. In fact, humans are not faced with uncertainty for the first time. However, within this uncertainty that it is experiencing today lies the concern that its ontological existence will be destroyed. Transhumanism's radical attempts to change human biology and physiology cause it to come into conflict with religious circles in particular and to be perceived as a threat. For this reason, the idea of Transhumanism stands somewhere in the limbo where possibility and threat are intertwined.
