Lise öğrencilerinin Türkçe öğretimine ilişkin tutumları ile İngilizce öğretimine ilişkin tutumları arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, lise öğrencilerinin Türkçe ve İngilizce öğretimine ilişkin tutumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın araştırma grubunu Bitlis İli Hizan İlçesi ortaöğretim (lise) kurumlarında öğrenim gören 302 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modeline göre yapılan çalışmada örneklem grubunun seçiminde rastgele örneklem seçilmiştir. Veri toplama araçları olarark Türkçe Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve İngilizce Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçekler ilgili lise öğrencileri ile sınıf ortamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre 16 yaşındaki öğrencilerin 18 yaşındaki öğrencilere göre daha fazla İngilizce öğrenmeye yönelik olumsuz tutumlarının bulunduğu, anaokulunda İngilizce öğrenen öğrencilerin ilköğretim, ortaokul ve lisede İngilizce öğrenen öğrencilere göre daha fazla İngilizce dersine yönelik olumsuz düşüncelerinin bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersine yönelik olumsuz düşüncelerinin olumlu düşüncelerinden daha yüksek olduğu, kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre Türkçe dersine yönelik olumlu düşünceleri daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerde Türkçe dersine yönelik olumsuz düşünceler arttıkça, İngilizce dersine yönelik hem olumlu hem de olumsuz düşünceler ve İngilizce öğrenmeye yönelik olumsuz düşüncelerin arttığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

In this study, it was aimed to examine high school students' attitudes towards Turkish and English teaching. The research group of the study consists of 302 students studying in secondary education (high school) institutions in Hizan District of Bitlis Province. In the study conducted according to the scanning model, a random sample was chosen in the selection of the sample group. Attitude Scale towards Turkish Lesson and Attitude Scale towards English Lesson were used as data collection tools. The scales were carried out with the relevant high school students in a classroom environment. According to the results of the study, it was determined that 16-year-old students have more negative attitudes towards learning English than 18-year-old students, and students who learn English in kindergarten have more negative attitudes towards English lessons than students who study English in primary, secondary and high schools. It was determined that negative opinions of high school students towards Turkish lesson were higher than their positive thoughts, and female students had higher positive opinions about Turkish lesson than male students. It was concluded that as the negative attitudes towards Turkish lesson increased among students, both positive and negative thoughts about English lesson and negative thoughts about learning English increased.
