The Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy in the Effect of School Principals' Transformational Leadership Characteristics on Teachers' Innovative Work Behavior

Özet
This study aims to examine the mediating role of teacher self-efficacy in the effect of school principals' transformational leadership characteristics on teachers' innovative work behavior according to teachers' views. The research was conducted using a relational survey model. The study group of the research consists of 300 teachers working in public and private schools in Istanbul, Turkey. Transformational Leadership Short Scale, Innovative Work Behavior Scale, and General Self-Efficacy Scale were data collection tools. The research data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). As a result of the study, it was found that teacher self-efficacy fully mediated the effect of transformational leadership characteristics of school principals on teachers' innovative work behavior.
