Ergenlerde Yalnızlık ve Kişilik Özellikleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada ergenlerde yalnızlık ve kişilik özellikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelenmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nicel araştırma metotlarından ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri İstanbul'un Bağcılar ilçesinde bulunan, ortaokul ve lise de öğrenim görmekte olan öğrencilerden elde edilmiştir. Çalışma grubu, 429'u (%51,3) kız ve 407'si (%48,7) erkek birey olmak üzere toplam 836 katılımcıdan ibarettir. Araştırmada "Yalnızlık Ölçeği" ile "Beş Faktör Kişilik Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" oluşturulmuş ve bu formdan yararlanılmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizinde; frekans ve yüzdelikler, t-testi, varyans analizi (ANOVA), Pearson korelasyonu ve çok değişkenli regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına incelendiğinde kız katılımcıların puanlarının beş faktör kişilik ölçeği alt boyutlarından nörotiklik (nevrotiklik) ve deneyime açıklık alt ölçeklerinde erkek katılımcılara göre daha yüksek olduğu, erkek öğrencilerin beş faktör kişilik ölçeği alt boyutlarından öz denetimlilik puanlarının kız öğrencilerden yüksek olduğu, ortaokulda okuyan öğrencilerin yalnızlık ölçeği puanlarının lisede okuyan öğrencilere göre yüksek olduğu, 8. sınıf öğrencilerin yalnızlık düzeyinin daha yüksek olduğu, annenin eğitim durumu yükseldikçe yalnızlık düzeyinin düştüğü, ilgisiz ebeveyn tutumuna sahip ergenlerin yalnızlık düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between loneliness and personality traits in adolescents. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The data of the study were obtained from secondary and high school students in Bağcılar district of Istanbul. The study group consisted of 836 participants, 429 (51.3%) girls and 407 (48.7%) boys. "Loneliness Scale" and 'Five Factor Personality Scale' were used in the study. In addition, "Personal Information Form" was created and utilized to determine the demographic characteristics of the students. Frequency and percentages, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation and multivariate regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data When the results of the study were examined, it was found that the scores of the female participants were higher than the male participants in the neuroticism and openness to experience subscales, the self-control scores of the male students from the five-factor personality scale subscales were higher than the female students, the loneliness scale scores of the students studying in secondary school were higher than the students studying in high school, the loneliness level of the 8th grade students was higher, the loneliness level decreased as the mother's education level increased, and the loneliness levels of adolescents with indifferent parental attitudes were higher.
