Psikolojik Manipülasyon Ölçeğinin Geliştirilmesi ve Psikometrik Niteliklerinin Saptanması

Abstract

267 ve İnsan ilişkilerini olumsuz etkileyen faktörlerden biri de psikolojik manipülasyon olarak adlandırılan kişilerin farklı yöntemlerle karşısındaki bireylerin karar ve düşünce özgürlüğüne müdahalede bulunması ve onların düşüncelerini kendi çıkarlarına uygun olarak yönlendirmesidir. Bu bağlamda psikolojik manipülasyonun nedenlerini ortaya koymak ve gerekli önlemlerin alınması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bundan dolayı bu araştırmada Psikolojik Manipülasyon Ölçeğinin Geliştirilmesi Psikometrik Niteliklerinin Saptanması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları 279'u (%72) kadın 108'i (%28) erkek olmak üzere 387 kişiden oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların 119'u (%31) 18-25 yaş 180'i (%47) 26-35 yaş, 88 ise (%23) 36 ve üzeri yaştadır. Geliştirilen ölçek madde redaksiyonu uzmanlarca incelenmiş, bazı maddeler değişiklik yapılarak bazı maddeler ise çıkarılarak ölçeğin son halinin psikometrik niteliklerini saptamak amacıyla Açımlayıcı ve Doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılmıştır. Ölçekteki maddelerin ayırt ediciliğini saptamak amacıyla her bir maddenin ayırt etme gücü t testi ile ölçülmüştür. Ölçeğin güvenirlik çalışması için her bir faktörün Cronbach Alpha değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucu 3 faktörden oluştuğu gözlenmiştir. Ölçek, birinci faktör 13, ikinci faktör 5, üçüncü faktör ise 4 olmak üzere toplam 22 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Ölçek maddeleri bütünüyle incelenmiş ve inceleme sonucunda birinci faktöre "Değersizleştirilme" ikinci faktöre "İnkâr ve Reddedilme" üçüncü faktöre ise "Bastırılma" adı verilmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi ile elde edilen model doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile test edilmiş ve elde edilen uyum indekslerinin oldukça yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Maddelerin ayırt etme gücü üst alt %27'lik gruplarla karşılaştırılması yapılmış ve tüm maddelerin ayırt etme güçlükleri arasındaki farkın anlamlı olduğu gözlenmiştir. Alt ölçeklerin birbirleri ile korelasyonları incelendiğinde elde edilen değerler 0.56 ile 0.80 arasında değişmektedir. Ölçeğin güvenirlik çalışması için her bir faktörün Cronbach Alpha değerleri hesaplanmış, elde edilen Cronbach Alpha değeri Değersizleştirme için 0.95, İnkâr ve Reddedilme için 0.85, Bastırılma için 0.76 ölçeğin bütünü için ise 0.95 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Geliştirilen Psikolojik Manipülasyon Ölçeğinin psikometrik niteliklerine bütün olarak bakıldığında geçerli ve güvenilirliği olan ve psikolojik manipülasyon ile düzeyini ölçmek için kullanılabilir bir araç olduğu görülmektedir.

Psychological manipulation, one of the factors that negatively affects human relations, is people intervening in other individuals' freedom of decision and thought with different methods and directing their thoughts in line with their own interests. In this context, it is of great importance to reveal the reasons for psychological manipulation and take the necessary precautions. Therefore, this research aims to develop the Psychological Manipulation Scale and determine its psychometric qualities. The research was carried out in the relational scanning model. The participants of the study consisted of 387 people, 279 (72%) of whom were women and 108 (28%) of whom were men. 119 (31%) of the participants are between the ages of 18-25, 180 (47%) are between the ages of 26-35, and 88 (23%) are aged 36 and over. The developed scale was examined by experts in terms of item arrangement, some items were changed and some items were removed, and Exploratory and Confirmatory factor analyzes were conducted to determine the psychometric qualities of the final version of the scale. In order to determine the discrimination of the items in the scale, the discrimination power of each item was measured with the t test. For the reliability study of the scale, Cronbach Alpha values of each factor were calculated. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, it was seen that the scale consists of 3 factors. The scale consists of a total of 22 items: the first factor is 13, the second factor is 5 and the third factor is 4. The scale items were examined in their entirety and the first factor was named as a result of the analysis. "Worthlessness", the second factor was called "Denial and Rejection", and the third factor was called "Repression ". The model obtained by exploratory factor analysis was tested with confirmatory factor analysis and the fit indices obtained were found to be quite high. When the discrimination powers of the items were compared with the upper and lower 27% groups, it was seen that the difference between the discrimination difficulties of all the items was significant. When the correlations of the subscales with each other are examined, the values obtained vary between 0.56 and 0.80. For the reliability study of the scale, Cronbach Alpha values for each factor were calculated and the resulting Cronbach Alpha value was calculated as 0.95 for Worthlessness, 0.85 for Denial and Rejection, 0.76 for Repression and 0.95 for the entire scale. Considering the psychometric properties of the developed Psychological Manipulation Scale as a whole, it seems that it is a valid and reliable tool that can be used to measure psychological manipulation and its level.
