Aile değerlendirmelerinde bir alt sistem olarak evcil hayvan: Genel bir çerçeve

Abstract

Sosyal çalışma müdahalelerinde etkili ve başarılı olunabilmesi için değerlendirme merkezi bir bileşendir. Aile ise, mikro düzeydeki müdahalelerin odağında bulunmaktadır. Sosyal çalışma pratiğinde aile, üyelerin birbirileriyle sürekli etkileşim halinde olduğu dinamik bir sistem olarak görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda bir bütünü oluşturan üyelerin ve alt sistemlerin birbirleri ile etkileşiminde yaşanan aksaklıklar, bütünü ve dolayısı ile diğer tüm üye ve alt sistemleri etkilemektedir. Aile sistemindeki sorunun çözümü için değişim sağlayabilmek ancak bu alt sistemleri ve birbirleri ile etkileşimlerini anlamak ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Planlı değişim sürecinin ön değerlendirme aşaması ile başlayan bu kavrayış çabasının başarıya ulaşabilmesi için, çok boyutlu bir çerçeve içinde bilgi toplayıp, analiz ve sentez yapmak gerekmektedir. Bu süreçte, sadece sorunun oluşumuna katkı sağlayan değil aynı zamanda değişim yaratma ve sorun çözmede güç ve destek kaynağı olabilecek unsurların da belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu bağlamda evcil hayvanların insanların hayatlarındaki konumu ve önemi dikkate değerdir. Bununla birlikte ülkemizde sosyal çalışma alanında, evcil hayvanların aile değerlendirmeleri bağlamındaki konumunu irdeleyen bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu çalışmada da, ekosentrik bir bakış açısı ile sistem yaklaşımı bağlamında evcil hayvanların aile değerlendirmelerindeki konumunun belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca ulaşabilmek adına, evcil hayvanlar aile sistemini değerlendirmede bir alt sistem olarak ele alınmış ve söz konusu bağlamdaki konumu literatür taraması ile desteklenerek sunulmuştur.

Assessment is a central component for effective and successful intervention in social work interventions. The family is at the center of the micro-level interventions. In social work practice, the family is seen as a dynamic system in which members are constantly interacting with each other and with the whole family. In this context, a flaw in the interaction of the components / members and subsystems affects the whole and therefore all other members and sub-systems. The change of the family system to solve the problem is only possible by understanding these sub-systems and their interactions with each other. To achieve success in understanding, which begins with the preliminary evaluation stage of the planned change process, it is necessary to collect, analyze and synthesize information in a multidimensional framework. In this process, it is necessary to identify the elements that contributes to the formation of the problem and which can serve as a source of power and support in creating change and problem solving. In this context, the position and importance of domestic animals in people's lives is remarkable. However, no study has been found in the social work area in our country that directly examines the position of domestic animals in the context of family assessments. In this study, it is aimed to determine the position of domestic animals in family assessments in terms of system approach with an ecocentric perspective. In order to achieve this aim, domestic animals are considered as a sub-system in the assessment of the family system and their position in this context has been presented with the support of literature review.
