Sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ile sosyal adalet savunuculuğu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ile sosyal adalet savunuculuğu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma modellerinden korelasyon yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Mersin'de çeşitli kurumlarda görev yapmakta olan sosyal hizmet uzmanları oluşturmakta olup araştırma örneklemi kapsamında 202 sosyal hizmet uzmanına ulaşılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında kişisel bilgi formu, Altınova ve Duyan (2013) tarafından geliştirilen "Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı Ölçeği'' ve Dean (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Serpen, Duyan ve Aldoğan (2014) tarafından Türkiye'de geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan "Sosyal Adalet Savunuculuğu Ölçeği'' kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgi formuna yönelik frekans ve yüzde dağılımı alınmıştır. Sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve sosyal adalet yetkinliklerini çeşitli değişkenlerle ortaya koyabilmek için gruplar arasında normal dağılım sağlanmadığı için ikili karşılaştırmalarda Mann Whitney U testi, ikiden fazla değişken gruplarının karşılaştırılmasında Kruskal Wallis H testi kullanılmıştır. İkiden fazla bağımsız grup arasında farklılığın anlamlı bulunması durumunda Kruskal Wallis 1-way ANOVA (Çoklu Karşılaştırma) testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ile sosyal adalet savunuculuğu arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Sosyal adalet savunuculuğunun işbirlikçi hareket, müracaatçının güçlendirilmesi, sosyal/politik savunuculuk ve müracaatçı/toplum savunuculuğu boyutları arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısıyla birlikte sosyal adalet savunuculuk düzeyi de artmaktadır.

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between social workers' perception of gender and social justice advocacy. Correlation method, one of the quantitative research models, was used in this study. The population of the research consists of social workers working in various institutions in Mersin, and 202 social workers were reached within the scope of the research sample. The demographic questionnaire was used to collect the data, the "Gender Perception Scale" developed by Altınova and Duyan (2013), and the "Social Justice Advocacy Scale" developed by Dean (2009) and whose validity and reliability studies were conducted in Turkey by Serpen, Duyan and Aldoğan (2014). '' used. Frequency and percentage distribution for the personal information form was obtained. In order to reveal the gender perception and social justice competencies of social workers with various variables, the Mann Whitney U test was used for pairwise comparisons and the Kruskal Wallis H test for comparing groups of more than two variables, since there was no normal distribution between the groups. If the difference was found to be significant between more than two independent groups, the Kruskal Wallis 1-way ANOVA (Multiple Comparison) test was applied. In the study, a positive and significant relationship was found between social workers' perception of gender and social justice advocacy. A significant relationship was found between collaborative action, client empowerment, social/political advocacy and client/community advocacy dimensions of social justice advocacy. The level of social justice advocacy increases along with the gender perception of social workers.
