Türkiye'deki oyun sokağı örneklerinin oyun mekânı tasarım ilkeleri bağlamında incelenmesi

Abstract

20. yüzyıldan günümüze, kentleşme ve artan trafik sorunlarıyla sokakların işlevselliğini kaybetmesi, çocukların güvenli oyun alanlarının azalmasına neden olmuş durumdadır. Bu bağlamda, günümüz sokaklarının iyileştirilmesine yönelik oyun sokağı çalışmaları yapılmaktadır. Çocuk, oyun ve mekân ilişkisi bağlamında, bir kentin çocuk dostu olabilmesi için gerekli yaklaşımlar ve güvenlik faktörünün önemi vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmada, çocuk dostu kentlerde oyun sokağı yaklaşımları ve Dünya'daki örnek uygulamaların ülkelere göre özelleşmiş isimleriyle incelenmiştir. Dünya'da incelenen uygulama örneklerinin tasarım ilkeleri ile açık oyun mekânları tasarım ilkeleri ilişkilendirilerek, 27 kriterden oluşan oyun sokağı tasarım kriterleri listesi oluşturulmuştur. Türkiye'de 2016 yılı itibarıyla başlayan oyun sokağı çalışmaları, yakın geçmişe dayanması sebebiyle sayıca azdır. Türkiye'den oyun sokaklarını inceleme amacıyla uygun bulunan 11 oyun sokağı seçilmiştir. Seçilen 11 oyun sokağı, çalışma kapsamında hazırlanan 27 oyun sokağı tasarım ilkesi kriteri kapsamında incelenerek, tablolar aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında; oyun sokağı tasarım ilkelerinin, seçilen örnek oyun sokaklarında uygulanması ve seçilen örnek oyun sokaklarının, oyun sokağı tasarım ilkelerine uygunluğu yüzdelik olarak ifade edilmiştir.

From the 20th century to the present day, the loss of functionality of the streets due to urbanization and increasing traffic problems has led to a decrease in safe playgrounds for children. In this context, play street studies are carried out to improve the streets. In the context of the relationship between children, play and space, the approaches required for a city to be child-friendly and the importance of the security factors are emphasized. The study examines various approaches taken by child-friendly cities across the world regarding play streets and provides examples from different countries. A comprehensive list consisting of 27 criteria for designing play streets have been created by combining design principles from these worldwide examples with open play space design principles. Turkey's involvement in play street studies is relatively recent as they began only in 2016; hence, a few related studies conducted therein. To examine Turkey's play streets further, eleven suitable game streets were chosen for evaluation within the scope of this study using the aforementioned 27 criteria as guidelines. Through careful examination and analysis using tables, an assessment was made concerning how well these sample game streets adhere to said design principles. Based upon the findings thus far; it is expressed that both percentages indicating how well these selected sample game streets implement their respective design principles and conform with overall game street design ideals.
