Moulage in nursing education

Abstract

Moulage technique is considered a simple, useful, practical and low cost educational method that can be used in both simple simulators and complex scenarios in the education of healthcare professionals and getting real-like results. Trainers can integrate many moulage techniques into educational processed within the frame of their possibilities in order to enrich nursing skill education. In addition, they can guide in producing the materials to be used in the moulage technique. The technique can also have an economic contribution potential by guiding the production of materials to be used in the education of healthcare professionals. Advantages, efficiency and effectiveness of this technique in Turkey can be tested with good research designs. In an advanced stage, it is recommended to evaluate the effect of these educational outcomes on practice or follow their applicability. It should not be forgotten that trainers and training managers have great responsibilities in using the moulage technique or many other useful methods in increasing the quality of skill education.
