Psychological stability in education
Abstract
The teaching profession carries a meaning different from other professions in terms of raising, developing and educating next generations. It is possible to say that psychological instability experienced by the teacher has many negative effects on the education process, such as failure in educational studies provided to the student. Moreover, the problems resulting from the psychological instability of teachers affect not only the individual but also the school, parents, the teachers‘ environment and family. There may be significant negativities both in qualification and quantity, and quality of educational studies conducted under these conditions. Therefore, the fact that the psychological stability levels of teachers are high is important in terms of effective education. The subjects of psychological stability, dimensions of the concept of psychological stability, factors affecting psychological stability, and the importance of psychological stability in terms of education and teachers, are included in this chapter, in accordance with the literature.
